Operations Manager - St Paul

Salary: $31.00-$35.00/hr

NRP is seeking an experienced ecological restoration leader to serve as Operations Manager at our West Saint Paul location. This leadership role oversees our Twin Cities-based field operations— managing active restoration contracts, supervising Project Managers, supporting field crews, and ensuring the highest standards of ecological practice across all assigned projects. The ideal candidate is a proven field practitioner who has grown into an operational leader. You bring deep technical knowledge of restoration practices, a strong track record managing complex multi-project portfolios, and the organizational ability to keep multiple contracts and crews moving forward simultaneously.

This role is both field-forward and operationally complex. You'll be on-site regularly — up to 40% of your time — while also managing project financials, forecasting, and project managers.


Wildland engine boss

Salary: $21.00-$40.00 per hour DOE, prevailing wage when applicable

While representing NRP and acting with minimal supervision, individuals will be assigned to a Type 6 or Type 3 engine. Individuals will be primarily responsible for leading and supervising crews through national fire assignments, as well as assisting with prescribed fire operations throughout Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, and the Dakotas.


Ecological Technician

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent or Full-time/Seasonal

Salary: $19.00/hr

Individual(s) hired will work individually or with a crew conducting habitat restoration tasks such as herbicide application, invasive species removal, brush and tree removal, prescribed fire, stacking and burning brush piles, planting and seeding etc. NRP conducts projects at various size and complexity scales, with variable schedules. Technicians are expected to be flexible and work on a variety of project types as needed. Work can vary seasonally, and may include extended periods of similar duties.


Ecological Operator Technician

Job Type: Full-time/Permanent or Full-time/Seasonal

Salary: $20.00/hr

Individual(s) hired will work individually or with a crew conducting habitat restoration tasks such as herbicide application, prescribed fire, brush and tree removal, invasive species removal, stacking and burning brush piles, planting and seeding etc. NRP conducts a wide variety of projects at various size and complexity scales. Technicians are expected to be flexible and work on a variety of project types as needed. Work can vary seasonally, and may include extended periods of similar duties.

Operator Technicians are responsible for operating large machinery such as skid steers, skidders, feller bunchers, etc. as necessary for projects. When not operating machinery, operator techs will work alongside Ecological Technician crews to assist with field work. Candidates are required to have previous experience operating heavy equipment.
