Ecological Restoration

The Public Lands branch of our Ecological Restoration Division operates out of our Twin Cities location. Since the beginning of NRP, this division has taken on the challenge of ecological restoration in a dynamic and changing landscape. Staffed by a crew of skilled and experienced technicians, we have become leaders in ecological restoration and habitat management. We approach every project with a Light on the Land mindset, so you can be assured that we will complete the job with minimal negative disturbance to the native communities.

If you manage public or tribal lands, this division is here for you. We have experience with all kinds of different management practices from invasive species removal to large seeding to forestry mowing to prescribed burning. Whether you’re following industry-accepted practices, or trying a new creative approach to ecological restoration, we’re ready to help. With a solid foundation in best management practices and a strong ability to adapt, we are always evolving and ready to take on any challenge.

Our Ecological Restoration Division has a broad range of knowledge and experience, as well as a fleet of equipment and operators to back it up. Whatever your project, we can assist. So don’t hesitate to contact us about your project needs--it’s highly likely we have the capacity to accomplish them.

Public Lands Restoration

We have been working on public lands since the beginning of our journey as a company. Managing public land requires juggling many priorities, from recreation use to economic services to ecological function, and everything in between. With that in mind, we offer quality ecological restoration and management services that are flexible and adaptable to many management requirements. We have a broad range of experience, and multiple partners at all levels of government, across all of Minnesota. Whatever your project needs, we’re ready to help.

Forest and Woodland Restoration

From the broadleaf forests of the south, to the laurentian mixed and boreal forests of the north, woodlands cover much of Minnesota and neighboring states. These forests have a long history of land-use change, and are cultural icons of the Midwest. Restoring and maintaining resilience and biodiversity in these forests is vital. Much of our expertise involves forest ecosystems. From invasive species removal to large tree thinning to forest inventories, we have experience with all stages of forest management. Removing invasive species, opening canopies, and promoting native understory species are some of our favorite projects. If you have a forest or woodland in need of management, let us help.

Prairie Restoration

Native prairies are disappearing across the Midwest, victims to land-use changes, invasive species, and altered disturbance regimes. Proper restoration and management is important to maintaining these key ecosystems. Our crews have thousands of hours of experience working in prairies. We undertake all aspects of prairie restoration and management, from adaptive plant management to prescribed burning to mowing and seeding. Additionally, our experience includes both existing prairies that just need a little TLC, as well as complete prairie creation. We also offer long-term maintenance services. If you are looking to preserve this vital ecosystem, contact us to be your prairie preservation partner!
